Brake fluid inside the drum
A wet wheel cylinder or contaminated lining needs prompt repair, not just topping up the reservoir.
Rear drum-brake leak diagnosis
A leaking or seized wheel cylinder can reduce rear-brake performance and contaminate the brake shoes. SP88 inspects the drum assembly and hydraulic system before quoting the complete repair.
A wet wheel cylinder or contaminated lining needs prompt repair, not just topping up the reservoir.
Hydraulic leakage or air in the system can increase pedal travel and reduce braking confidence.
A seized piston, worn shoes, adjustment fault or handbrake problem can pull or imbalance the brakes.
The cylinder is one possible cause; shoe condition, drum wear and adjustment are checked too.
We inspect for hydraulic leakage, check the drum, shoes, springs and adjuster, and confirm the correct cylinder. The system is bled after replacement and the rear brake operation is checked. If fluid has soaked the linings, affected shoes and related hardware may also need replacement.
Do not drive with a low pedal, visible brake-fluid leak or rapidly falling reservoir level. Arrange recovery because braking performance can deteriorate without warning.
SP88 covers Wallington, Sutton, Croydon, Purley and nearby South London and Surrey areas. Suitability for mobile work depends on the vehicle, access and the confirmed repair.
Send the registration, postcode and a clear description of the symptoms. Planned appointments start on weekdays at 10:00, 12:00 or 14:00. Weekends are closed.
A booking request is not a diagnosis or parts-compatibility confirmation. SP88 will confirm the vehicle details and repair route.
