SP88 Mobile Mechanic: Service Policy, Pricing, and Customer Terms

Last updated: 10 September 2026

These terms apply when a consumer books SP88 mobile mechanic, auto-electrical or accessory-fitting services. SP88 is operated by Shannon Phillips and provides mobile services at the customer’s agreed location. Please read these terms before booking.

1. Services and quotations

SP88 will confirm the requested job, location and known vehicle details before attendance. A quote is based on the information available at that time. Diagnostics can reveal additional faults, parts or labour that could not reasonably be identified in advance.

No additional paid work will be carried out without explaining the change and obtaining the customer’s agreement. SP88 may decline or stop work if the location, vehicle or requested repair is unsafe or outside the agreed scope.

2. Current labour and booking prices

  • Booking deposit: £20. This secures the appointment and is credited against the final invoice.
  • Call-out and first hour: £100. This covers travel within the agreed service area and up to the first hour of attendance for one agreed job, including diagnosis or labour.
  • Additional labour: £100 per hour. Any further labour and its estimated time will be agreed before work continues.
  • Parts and materials: charged separately at the agreed price.
  • Additional travel or out-of-hours work: only charged where quoted and agreed before the booking is confirmed.

If the agreed job is completed within the first hour, the labour charge remains £100 plus any separately agreed parts, materials, travel or out-of-hours costs. There is no automatic higher fixed-within-the-hour charge.

3. Booking information and access

The customer must provide accurate contact details, vehicle registration, make and model, a useful description of the fault, the vehicle location and safe access to the vehicle. The customer must tell SP88 about known hazards, vehicle modifications or earlier repair attempts that may affect the work.

Appointment times are estimates because mobile work, traffic and earlier jobs can cause delays. SP88 will communicate material delays as soon as reasonably possible.

4. Payment

The £20 deposit is credited to the final invoice. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the remaining balance is due when the agreed work is completed or when the invoice states. Payment may be made by cash, bank transfer or an available card-payment method.

SP88 does not add a consumer surcharge solely because a customer pays by debit card, credit card or another covered payment method.

5. Parts and warranties

Where SP88 supplies a part, the quote or invoice will state any applicable manufacturer or SP88 warranty. Nothing in these terms reduces the customer’s statutory rights.

If the customer supplies a part, the customer is responsible for ensuring that it is the correct part and suitable for the vehicle. SP88 is not responsible for a defect, poor quality or incompatibility inherent in a customer-supplied part, but SP88 remains responsible for carrying out the agreed fitting service with reasonable care and skill. Attendance and labour already provided remain chargeable even if a customer-supplied part is incorrect.

6. Diagnostics, further work and revisits

A diagnostic appointment is a professional investigation and does not guarantee that every intermittent or concealed fault will be identified in one visit. Findings and recommended next steps will be explained. A revisit or further repair will be quoted according to the work required; there is no automatic fixed revisit charge.

7. Cancellations and rescheduling

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling. SP88 will explain before booking how the £20 deposit is treated. Where permitted by law, reasonable costs already incurred or work already performed may be deducted or charged.

For bookings made online or by phone, statutory cancellation rights apply where applicable. If the customer expressly asks SP88 to begin the service during a statutory cancellation period, the customer may have to pay a proportionate amount for work performed before cancellation. Nothing in this section removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Customer concerns and damage

Please report a concern as soon as reasonably possible and provide photographs or other relevant information where available. SP88 will investigate fairly and, where responsible, provide an appropriate remedy in line with the customer’s legal rights. These terms do not impose an artificial 24-hour deadline for valid claims.

9. Liability and statutory rights

SP88 will perform services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights and remedies provided by consumer law.

10. Photos and videos

Booking a service does not give SP88 permission to use identifiable photos, videos, registration numbers or customer details for advertising or social media. Promotional use requires a separate, optional and informed opt-in. Refusing or withdrawing that consent will not affect the service.

11. Partner services

If SP88 introduces or arranges a service delivered by an independent partner, the customer will be told who will provide it and whether separate partner terms apply before committing to that service.

12. Personal data

SP88 uses the personal data needed to manage enquiries, bookings, payments and aftercare. Information about data use belongs in a separate Privacy Notice rather than being treated as consent hidden inside these service terms.

13. Complaints and contact

If anything is unclear or a customer is unhappy with a service, contact SP88 promptly through the website Contact page so the issue can be reviewed and addressed. The parties should first try to resolve the matter directly; this does not restrict either party’s legal rights.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. A consumer retains any mandatory rights about where a dispute may be brought.

By confirming a booking, the customer agrees to these service terms and to the specific price and scope shown in the booking confirmation, quote or invoice.
