Prepare for a productive mobile visit

Choose a safe, legal place where the vehicle can remain stationary and there is enough room to open doors, the bonnet and the boot. Please arrange any parking permission before the appointment and keep every key or locking-device key that may be needed. If the battery, fuse box or equipment is under a seat or behind stored items, clear the area where practical.

Describe the symptoms as they happen rather than naming a part you think has failed. Include warning messages, noises, smells, recent repairs and whether the fault is permanent or intermittent. For an intermittent issue, explain the conditions that trigger it: cold start, rain, driving, braking, charging a device or leaving the vehicle overnight. A short video or dashboard photograph can save diagnostic time.

For battery or non-start enquiries, say whether the engine cranks, whether the lights remain bright and whether the vehicle has recently been jump-started or charged. For accessory installations, send the exact kit or product details and clear photographs of what was supplied. Compatibility, missing parts and additional fitting requirements can then be discussed before attendance.

A mobile visit may begin with diagnosis before a repair can be confirmed. Some faults require parts, further testing or workshop access, so an initial appointment cannot guarantee that every problem will be completed immediately. SP88 will explain the findings and obtain approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.

If the vehicle is stopped in a dangerous live-traffic position, arrange emergency recovery or contact the appropriate emergency service first. The online calendar is for planned mobile appointments, not an emergency-response promise. Sending complete, accurate information helps SP88 choose the right service and avoid a wasted journey. Please update SP88 promptly if the vehicle’s condition or location changes before the booked visit.
